WHO WE ARE

HISTORY

Casal de Valle Pradinhos is a 450-hectare farm established in 1913 and owned by the Pinto de Azevedo family ever since. The wines produced here are a combination of indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Malvasia Fina and renowned international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer and Riesling.

Maria Antónia Pinto de Azevedo Mascarenhas, great-granddaughter of founder Manoel Pinto de Azevedo, is the current owner of Casal de Valle Pradinhos. She has been implementing her vision in the wines that are vinified here since she took control of the property in 1994.

 Her daughter, Maria, will be the 4th generation of women directly involved in the management of the estate.

An Old World terroir and an enthusiastic winemaking team are the perfect combination for our production of world-class Portuguese wines.

Integrated Protection in Valle Pradinhos

Integrated pest management is a method of agricultural production which, in combating crop pests and diseases, aims to respect the balance of agricultural ecosystems, preferably through the natural limitation of harmful organisms and other appropriate means of control.

The aim of Integrated Protection is to

  • Rationalise the use of specifically approved plant protection products;
  • Respect the environment;
  • Encourage the use of alternative methods to chemical control;
  • Encourage the preservation of auxiliaries (natural enemies of the pests and diseases to be combated);
  • Preserving the health of consumers and farmers.
