Garrafa Valle Pradinhos Grande Reserva

Valle Pradinhos Great reserve 2011

Região: Macedo de Cavaleiros, Trás-os-Montes.

Soil: Schist origin, with medium clay content and the presence of quartz.

Climate: Temperate with continental characteristics.

Vinification: Rigorous selection of the bunches. Total destemming, followed by pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation with moderate temperature control and gentle daily manual pumping over. Long post-fermentation maceration. Aged in oak barrels for 20 months. Wine not filtered or cold stabilised. May create a deposit.

Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Touriga Nacional (15%).

Colour: Very intense cherry red with slight violet reflections.

Aroma: Vigorous with good intensity and complexity where red and black berries stand out, very ripe red tree fruits with stones. Aromas of coffee and dark chocolate. A touch of spices such as vanilla, thyme and black pepper adds elegance to the whole.

Palate: Very full-bodied wine with a balanced acidity that gives it elegance. Good tannins, fine and soft, well enveloped by the fruit. Persistent, ample and greedy finish.

Consumption: It should be enjoyed at a temperature of between 16ºC and 18ºC. Goes well with well-seasoned red meat dishes and aged sheep's milk cheeses. We recommend decanting.

Ageing potential: until 2026.
