Garrafa Valle Pradinhos Grande reserva 2015

Valle Pradinhos Great Reserve 2015

Região: Macedo de Cavaleiros, Trás-os-Montes.

Soil: Schist origin, with medium clay content and the presence of quartz.

Climate: Temperate with continental characteristics.

Vinification: Manual harvesting. Rigorous manual selection of the bunches. Total destemming, followed by pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation with moderate temperature control and gentle daily manual pumping over. Long post-fermentation maceration. Aged in oak barrels for 22 months. Wine not filtered or cold stabilised. May create a deposit.

Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) and Touriga Nacional (25%).

Colour: Very intense cherry red with slight violet reflections.

Aroma: Still very young but already showing its ‘breed’ and complexity, giving a glimpse of what will be its promising future. Beautiful combination of ripe black fruits (blackberry, blueberry), shrubby notes (cistus, rosemary), spices (black pepper and cloves).

Palate: Silky attack, very elegant body and unusually fresh for its beautiful structure. Good tannins, fine and soft, well enveloped by the fruit. Persistent, broad and very long finish.

Consumption: It should be enjoyed at a temperature of between 15ºC and 17ºC, preferably in ‘Bordeaux’ type glasses. Goes well with well-seasoned red meat dishes and aged sheep's milk cheeses. We recommend decanting.

Ageing potential: until 2040.
