Valle Pradinhos red 2006


Region: Macedo de Cavaleiros, Trás-os-Montes.

Soil: Schist origin, with medium clay content and the presence of quartz.

Climate: Temperate with continental characteristics.

Vinification: Total destemming, fermentation with moderate temperature control and daily pumping over. Post-fermentation maceration. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months. Wine not filtered or cold stabilised. May create a deposit.

Varieties: A combination of different plots, predominantly Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tinta Amarela.

Colour: Very intense red with violet reflections

Aroma: Vigorous with good intensity and complexity, where very ripe black berries stand out, light elegant floral notes and a touch of spice and vanilla.

Palate: Full-bodied wine with fine, soft tannins well enveloped by the fruit. Persistent, broad and greedy finish. Terroir wine.

Consumption: It should be enjoyed at a temperature of between 16ºC and 18ºC. Goes well with well-seasoned red meat dishes and aged sheep's milk cheeses.

Ageing potential: by 2020.

Alcohol: 14,60 %/vol.

Total acidity: 5.42 g/l tartaric acid

pH: 3,66

Reducing sugars: 2.3 g/l

Production (bottles): 25,926 gfs. of 0.75 litres and 515 gfs. of 1.5 litres
